| Western Illuminated Plastics, Inc. started out as Cory Crompvoets’ dream to become his own boss with the help of his wife, daughter & sons, their spouses and later his grandchildren. This was the basic mission statement for the company at the beginning. As the company evolved from ceilings to plastic diffusers, so did the purpose of the company, which is to be one of the top suppliers in the market. | |||

| Western Illuminated Plastics, Inc. started on January 1, 1978 as Western Plastics Company and specialized in luminous ceilings for kitchens and bathrooms. On August 9, 1979, Western became an incorporated company and dropped “company” from their name for the more esteemed incorporated title. This is when they started making replacement lighting diffusers for schools and hospitals. Starting with one mold of plastic, the company has now over 6,000 different molds in their warehouse. Western receives order by having customers fax over a drawing of what product they want, so Western can customize it, or a sample for duplication. The customer base ranges nationwide and across the borders into Canada, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Samoa and Saudi Arabia. The vastness of the geographic distribution of the customer base is aided by a team of independent contractors and electrical distributors in various locations. | |||
